Clems Daughter and family need help!

Clem is one of our members, his family are going through some hard times please help if you can! Our daughter’s cancer has returned. Eileen and I are doing all we can to be supportive both emotionally and financially but our resources are limited. She started a Go Fund Me account to cover her radiation costs. 11/13/25 Retiree Getaway Ride to Cave Creek

Six retired EVHOGs set out on five bikes for a nice ride to Cave Creek.  The weather was great and traffic was light as we made our way along the Bush Highway to the Bee Line, then through Fountain Hills and Rio Verde.  We stopped for lunch at the Horny Toad where Terry won the dollars!  After a fun lunch we worked our way back to Mesa and went our separate ways.  It was another great day of riding!

Five EVHOGs and one guest rode from DWHD to Harley Davidson of Scottsdale to support HOGtoberfest.  The weather was great for this short, but scenic ride.  We arrived early and found great parking at HDoS.  There were some vendors in the parking lot and lots of bikes and merch in the store. They had food and live music too!  Tom led and Jorge was sweep for this ride.  Welcome Bryan to the Chapter!

Ten bikes left Harley Davidson of Scottsdale for the EVHOG led HOGtoberfest ride to Roosevelt Dam.  The weather was near perfect as we made our way through Scottsdale, into Fountain Hills, and on to the Beeline.  Once on the Beeline, it was a fun ride to Jake’s Corner and then our destination of the Roosevelt Dam.  We stopped at the Butcher Hook Café for lunch and then made our way back to Scottsdale.  Richard did a great job as Lead rider.  Jorge kept everyone together from the Sweep position.   Another great day of riding in Arizona!

10/1/25 Ted's Hot Dogs Ride

6 Riders made the short trip to Ted's Hot Dogs for a quick meal and camaraderie. Chuck was our lead and Doug was sweep. We got a t-shirt update from Kimberly from last week design ideas( your gonna love the DWHD shirts coming in January!! We also learned about Meta Glass from Doug very cool and my birthday is right around the corner if anybody want to get me a pair form Oakley. Great night for conversation and beautiful weather for a night ride!!

10/1/25 Retiree Runaway Impromptu Ride

Four retirees left a warmer than expected DWHD just as morning traffic was dying down.  We made our way through the City and onto Wickenburg.  From there, we rode to the Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial State Park and found a nice lady to take some pictures for the Discover AZ Challenge. Then we rode to Kingman. We stopped at Mother Road HD and then Thunder Rode to get some stamps for the Tour of Duty Challenge before we visited the Route 66 drive through sign for more Discover AZ pictures.

9/29/25 Winkleman Loop

Four riders left DWHD to ride the Winkleman Loop.  The sun was out and the day got nicer throughout the ride.  AZ 177 had a little flood debris on the edge of the roadway in only a couple of places, and it didn’t affect the ride. We stopped for breakfast at Maria’s where Jorge won dollars.  After a gas stop, we decided to avoid any possible flood/debris issues in Globe and turned west toward Oracle Junction and the Pinal Pioneer Parkway.  We stopped at the Tom Mix Memorial so Clem and Mark could get their Discover AZ picture.

9/20/25 - Mesa Cars & Coffee 5 Bikes/Riders enjoyed a Saturday morning ride to Mesa Cars & Coffee kick off event. A lot of really nice cars. It was a bit warm so off to Lucky Lou’s for breakfast in the ac. Food and service was good (ask Rodney how his biscuits and gravy were) - but conversation was the best. 9/13/25 Overnight Ride on Devil's Highway

Six riders left DWHD for a run up Devil’s Highway, overnight in Springerville, and then back home through the Salt River Canyon.  We left Mesa in mild temps and made our way to Globe for breakfast at the Copper  Bistro.  We continued to Safford where we checked the weather.  We saw some dark clouds and rain ahead of us, but it cleared out of our route allowing a dry ride to Clifton. We took pictures at the Train Station for both the Chapter Discover Arizona Challenge and HOG 50 Rides, One nation Challenge.

9/7/25 Jake's Corner

5 Bikes took advantage of the perfect weather to ride. First stop, Jake's Corner. Breakfast was good as always (the order of biscuits and gravy is massive by the way) and Kimberly Case won the dollars. After breakfast, the group headed to Roosevelt Dam since a couple of us hadn't gotten our picture yet. From there it was off to Globe for gas and then home! Thank you Chuck Case for being sweep. Thank you Rodney Schade for taking over lead after Jake's. And thanks to all for a great ride with great company!

8/10/25 Bowling with Hog93

View Gallery EVHOG was victorious today and brought home the Bowling Trophy! 11 EVHOG Members attended with 9 bowlers. HOG93 had 8 bowlers so we utilized the average scores of two games to determine the winner. Both chapters enjoyed bowling, food, drinks and a lot of cheering on both teams. A wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning. Congratulations to Larry Mueller for high score of 191.

June 2025 General Meeting

Jorge ran the June meeting as Chuck was out of town.  Jorge introduced the "5-minute warning" concept for upcoming rides.  During a break on a Chapter ride, the lead Road Captain will give a 5-minute warning before we start riding again.  Riders can start preparing for the next leg of the ride at this time: setting radios, electronics, donning riding gear, etc.   Yvonne discussed upcoming Dealer events.  Chapter members may be asked to assist with "Test Rides and T-Shirts" on July 12.

5/31/25 Ride to Bartlett Lake

Three EVHOGs left DWHD for Bartlett Lake Saturday morning.  Temps were comfortable under clouds when we left.  The elevated approach to Bartlett Lake brought relief with temps dipping below 80 degrees.  Bartlett Lake water level was low, but there were plenty of boats on the water. Chuck returned to DWHD to prepare for Biker Bingo while Tom and Terry rode to the Cryin' Coyote in Cave Creek for some delicious BBQ. After lunch we had a nice ride home before temps got too high. Great ride with great friends.

5/24/25 Ride to Flagstaff

Six EVHOGs and a guest set out on a beautiful Saturday morning.  Temps were warming as we left, but settled to a comfortable ride as we ascended the mountains. After a nice breakfast in Pine, Mark wisely decided to return home with a rear tire concern.  The rest of us continued through Camp Verde and into Sedona.

5/17/25 TC's Anniversary Ride

4 EVHOGs made the trip to meet TC and his folks for the anniversary ride. We road to Union hills and Cave Creek waited for all others to show up. Made our way to Wickenburg then to Yarnell for lunch then on to Prescott via Skull Valley. Took a power nap then down town to have drinks on the patio of Jerseys Lilly's, back to hotel for more drinks and laughter. On our way home stopped at Granit Hot Shots Memorial for Discover AZ. 5/10/25 Bagdad Ride

Four EVHOGs, including returning member, Ray, set out for a warm ride to Bagdad. Tom lead and Pepper was sweep for this fun, little group. We took the scenic route through Fort McDowell, Fountain Hills, and the Carefree Highway. We ate at Copper Country Bar and Grill, which is a stamp stop for the AZ Tour of Honor Ride challenge. Tom got his stamp. The ride home was more direct, taking us through a couple of traffic slow-downs for accidents and construction closures in the City. We hit a high of 103 degrees in Phoenix.

Brad Fleck, 2024 Vivid Black Pan America, is from Florida, wife passed away and her service dog is his best friend. Says he feels very welcome to the chapter and that is what he was looking for. Jeff King, a former member of the chapter, has decided to return as a member because he has always liked the chapter.

3/28/25 Spring Heat Ride

We left DWHD eager to ride to Albuquerque and start the 2025 HOG Spring Heat in Arizona Touring Rally. Johnny had some bad luck in Fountain Hills and could not continue. We met Doug in Albuquerque for the rest of the ride. The weather was cool and very windy, but clear and dry. We rode some spectacular roads and saw some cool sights. View Gallery

3/22/25 Rock Spring Ride

10 EVHOG and 2 quest made the nice easy trip to Rock Springs!! We cruised up 87 to the reservation into FH to Rio Verde, up the I17 and turned on the frontage road to go into Black Canyon City for some taste food at Beni's Pizza. Then back to Rock Springs for some pie at the Pie Box. The waitress stocky pies drop a stack of pies, and we got a large chocolate cream pie, Joyce and Chermaine split it up, but we got a little Tast, pretty good for free pie!! Jorge was our leader for the day, and he won the dollars, Chuck was sweep. Nice ride, great food, and awesome company!!

3/14/25 Blue Angels Overnight

3 bikes and 2 cages set out on a chilly morning ride to El Centro. It stopped raining about an hour before KSU, but we did enjoy some wet roads as we set out before sunrise. Jorge led the ride into Gila Bend for breakfast at the Space Age Diner. With bellys and gas tanks full, we cruised across the desert to the show. There were fewer displays and demonstration teams this year. The demos there were spectacular, capped off by another amazing Blue Angels performance. We met up with Mike T and Heather at the show. They drove over in their RV and camped at the base.

Ride 365

This year, we are participating in RIDE 365! We collect miles not only as individuals, but as a Chapter.  The more of our members that register for Ride 365, the more miles we can record!  There are great incentives for all.  Please take a few minutes to drop by Desert Wind Harley-Davidson with your VIN and Odometer reading to make sure you are registered.  This is different from the regular Mileage Program, so even if you are already registered for the Mileage Program, you still need to register for Ride 365.
